City officials announced that the expansion and modernization of the Los Angeles Convention Center has passed its first year of construction on schedule and within budget. Since work began in October 2025, the development has generated more than 1,700 union jobs and paid out nearly $10 million in wages to local workers.

In addition to construction payroll, the project has directed $500 million in contracts to small and minority-owned businesses. The city reported that 18 upcoming conventions have reserved dates for the expanded venue once construction is complete. Officials estimate those bookings will attract approximately 186,000 visitors to Downtown Los Angeles and produce more than $400 million in economic impact.

Long-term projections indicate the finished facility will support more than 15,000 jobs, draw over 500,000 annual visitors, and generate $150 million in yearly visitor spending. City financial estimates also project $652 million in general fund revenue over a 30-year span. To support continued workforce recruitment, the city plans to host two job fairs at the facility.
