The statewide anti-litter campaign Breaking Bad Habits has partnered with local nonprofit Imagine ABQ for the fifth annual Imagine ABQ Day on Saturday, September 26. Designated by the Albuquerque City Council for the final Saturday of September, the citywide event organizes local volunteers for neighborhood cleanup and beautification projects.

Between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., volunteers can access supplies and trash drop-off locations across five neighborhood hubs: Fire Station 12, Fire Station 5, Nob Hill at Next Chapter Studios, Barelas at Revamp Upholstery, and the Bosque near Sunset and Central. Following the cleanup activities, actors Luis and Daniel Moncada, who portray the Salamanca Cousins in the television series Breaking Bad and serve as campaign ambassadors, will make appearances at a mural reveal in Barelas, a community celebration at Triangle Park in Nob Hill alongside City Councilor Nichole Rogers, and a pre-game meet-and-greet at the New Mexico United soccer match.

Breaking Bad Habits launched in October 2024 to combat illegal dumping and litter across the state. According to campaign organizers, the initiative has partnered with 190 organizations and coordinated the removal of more than 10,000 bags of trash across New Mexico to date.
